Finding Your Voice
One of the hardest things to do in this crazy paced world is to follow our own voice, and not be influenced by friends, family, colleagues, or by what we hear, even in the media (yikes - ugh!).
Why is it so hard to say "no," to those who take advantage of us, or to stand up for our own beliefs? It shouldn’t be a battle to stay true to our own selves/hearts.
Many of my clients struggle with issues concerning self esteem, feeling that their disorganization or lifestyle is being judged by others, and that they are inferior in some way. This is not so, and I want to remind you of this.
I ask you to reassess those criticisms. I ask that you consider the sources, and exercise compassion to those friends or colleagues that may not understand what stress and sadness you may be enduring. I love the saying (& I’m probably misquoting): “Be kind to others – everyone is fighting their own battle.” I used to have that posted on my front door, and I’d read it every day before I left.
If you are struggling with maintaining your own voice, please remember that your own truths and beliefs are valid, important, and vital to your own happiness. Be yourself under all circumstances, and know you are entitled to do so. You are allowed - you are important.
Warm regards,
Leslie
